I Need More Time
October 22, 2013 - Michael McElwain
We need more than 24 hours.
I'm officially requesting that the length of the day be extended, but I'm not sure who should receive my official request.
I suppose I could try addressing an envelope to the the official U.S. timekeeper or to the folks running Greenwich Mean Time or the Atomic Clock. All I know is that I - and we - need more time.
I think 28-hours between days might just work, but I'd like a few free test days to give that a spin.
Oh, what I would do with those four extra hours. The top of the list would include sleep, of course. These days, I suddenly jolt awake while sitting at my computer, unsuccessful at squeezing in a few minutes of sleep. There's only so many times that, "I'm just resting my eyes," will work as an excuse.
Other than some sustained sleep, I might try getting in some exercise. The body is now showing the ravages of time, and having a few bonus hours during the day may give me enough time to take care of the container.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste, and so I might spend a little of the bonus hours reading a book or taking in a seminar. Learning is a nice way to exercise the mind and rejuvenate the spirit.
The last thing I would do with extra time is spend it on the computer doing more work. It just wouldn't make sense.
Finally, I would use the extra time toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Yikes. I apologize for that. I got caught drifting off for a few seconds...
Anyway, I would use the extra time to give this blog post a real classy ending and bring the main point to a satisfactory, pleasing, conclusion. Since I don't have the time, I think I'll just leave now and finish my letter writing campaign.
See you next time ...

At least the Greenwich clock looks like the day could be longer...
