Your Highness Movie Review
April 12, 2011 - Brandi Bowers
If you're looking for a Will Ferrell (Frat Pack), laugh out loud type comedy, then this is it! Your Highness just opened this past weekend. I went to see it last night & it was hilarious!
Your Highness stars Danny McBride (Eastbound & Down, Land of the Lost & Pineapple Express), James Franco (Spiderman, 127 Hours & Pineapple Express), Natalie Portman (Star Wars: Episode 1, Garden State & Black Swan) & Zooey Deschanel (Failure To Launch, Yes Man & 500 Days of Summer).
It's a typical story of a prince rescuing the damsel in distress. So picture that scenario, circa King Arthur times. Most of those stories are pretty serious & dramatic (think Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves). Well, not this one. Every inappropriate comment that can be made or thought, is. McBride plays Franco's younger (that was a stretch), useless brother. The two must team up to save their land and the older brother's fiance, Deschanel, from an evil wizard. Along the way they meet Isabel, Portman, who helps them in their quest.
The director for the movie is David Gordon Green. He is the same director from Pineapple Express (which McBride & Franco were both in). This movie had a lot of the same humor from that one, but I think this one was funnier. Having said that, it's not the funniest movie, so don't expect something like Anchorman or Wedding Crashers. It does have an R rating and is pretty crude, but if you're in the mood for a comedy you don't have to think about, this is your movie. Basically, if you're a fan of Eastbound & Down, you won't be disappointed.
