I thought this year's awards were very well organized and included movies we've actually heard of, or even, gasp, seen! The Social Network (based on the founder of Facebook) was the big winner last night. To check out the complete list of winners, see the list below from CNN Entertainment. My favorite part of the night was when the Cecil B. DeMille award was given to Robert DeNiro. I think he is absolutely one of the best actors there is. I thought he was trying to be a little too funny in his speech, but I liked when he said he was glad that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association picked him before seeing Little Fockers. If you've seen the movie, which I have, that makes sense. I also liked how he brought up all of his works that weren't seen in the clip of his films they showed. I was sitting there, watching that clip, thinking what about Great Expectations & Heat & so on. I think it's kind of insulting to give such a short tribute. I felt cheated like when I watch MTV and they show a few seconds of a music video instead of playing the whole thing. I know the awards are already long enough, but I really would like to see more clips, especially for an achievement as big as this. Overall, I thought the show went pretty well. I'm excited to see the movies I haven't seen yet, with one exception. I think Burlesque looks terrible. Maybe that's why it only won for song, though. Black Swan and The King's Speech, however, both look amazing, so I'll be sure to see those ones. I was also happy with the television part. Glee & Boardwalk Empire both won & they are two of my favorite shows. What did you think of the awards? Did your favorites win? Make sure to check out EW.com for the best & worst moments & styles.
