| | Resolutions and LiesDecember 28, 2010 - Eddie KokosinskiThe New Year is coming and many people are going to start making resolutions. Many will keep their word to themselves, but many, many more will not meet their goals, or give up come February. For me, I should lose weight. I know my body is unhealthy and I should change my diet. I've started doing it recently. Making my own food (with some excitement over recipes from Gordon Ramsay) but that in itself has become a failure. I end up making something that tastes REALLY good, like homemade potato chips (fish n chips style) with red salt seasoning and served with sour cream. 6 whole potatoes, 2 days later tends to ruin a diet. So should I wait until after the new year to start my diet? No, I should probably go ahead and do it now. But there will be a ton of food to eat at Eric's New Years Eve party and it will be delicious. Maybe I'll wait until the 1st. Nope, cant do that. The Winter Classic is that day and Dad will be having Buffalo Chicken dip. Not prime diet food. Well then the 2nd it is! Wellll, playoffs start the next week and Mom's yearly Super Bowl Calzone's are right around the corner. Valentines Day. Easter. Memorial Day. My Birthday. 4th of July. Baseball games. It is a never ending cycle of excuses, and I'm not the only one who does it. Guess I'll just have to bear down and either accept that I can't eat anything that everyone else does. Or maybe I'll just show some restraint and not be a pig about it. Bottom line is, if you're going to wait for New Years for your resolution to ____, I'd say chances are I'll be hearing it again next year. Here's to a happy New Year and some delicious water with every meal, that will fit directly into the center of my plate, hopefully not touching the edges.
