Entertainment 411 - October
October 14, 2010 - Brandi Bowers
There's so much going on in the world of entertainment this week, that I couldn't pick just one thing to blog about, so here we go.
The Situation got booted off Dancing with the Stars. I really thought his Jersey Shore popularity would help this show's ratings. From the sounds of it (since I don't watch DWTS), he was pretty terrible with the dancing, so that didn't really matter.
Conan's new late night talk show will be on TBS in November (yay Coco!) & former co-host/buddy, Andy Richter, will be once again joining him.
Ok, this one is more gossip than entertainment news, but Courteney Cox Arquette & David Arquette officially split. This one made me sad. I think they're both adorable together. Going along with this news, actor Joe Manganiello (Alcide, from the best television show ever True Blood) just got engaged to his actress/model girlfriend, Audra Marie. This one made me pretty sad too, but for different reasons. If you've seem him, you know what I'm saying.
The truth came out about the 1985 classic Back to the Future. Michael J. Fox was not the original choice for the lead. In fact, Eric Stoltz had filmed some of the scenes in the movie already, but director Robert Zemeckis didn't think he was funny enough to pull off the role. Luckily for everyone, it worked out great. That's just one of those movies that I still get excited to see on tv.
Next up, South Park. I don't know how these guys do it, but Matt & Trey manage to keep this show continuously funny & current. Last night's episode was a spoof of all the New Jersey shows: The Real House Wives of New Jersey, Jersey Shore & Jerseylicious. I was cracking up through the whole thing, but the Snooki monster had to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I felt bad for her a little at first, but then remembered they do that show purely for fame & money (nothing to do with actual love of acting or talent), & you know it's not all real. South Park pretty much nailed the whole Jersey takeover. Funny stuff.
And finally, the best news of this week... are you ready? Glee is doing a Rocky Horror Picture Show episode!!! It's a good thing Glee has a large fan base, because I have a feeling that it's actual target audience isn't too familiar with the movie. Hopefully once they see this, they'll want to be. Rocky Horror is a cult classic & so much fun. And putting it on right before Halloween is perfect. Can't wait to see it!
