| | How 'bout dem 'CatsOctober 10, 2010 - Mike MathisonIt looked terrible for Edison Friday night in Richmond. The Wildcats were down 21-0 to visiting St. Clairsville seconds into the second quarter and it looked like another easy victory for coach Brett McLean's team. But, coach Mike McKenzie's Wildcats decided it was time to actually play football. And they did so quite well. Edison counterpunched its way to a 21-13 deficit and earned a safety for a six-point deficit. St. Clairsville made it 28-13 and I am guessing more than a few people headed for the exit. Not so fast. The Wildcats came back to tie it up in the final seconds and won the game in triple overtime. This was a signature win for Edison. They was a win that proved the Wildcats are a good team. But, that win is over now and a 5-2 Bellaire team that likes to toss it around the football field comes to town. As great of a win that it was Friday night, Edison needs another brilliant performance against the surprising Big Reds this week. Because, like the hosts, the visitors will come into Cartwright Stadium with hopes of a playoff berth. Game on Wildcats. Don't look back. Eyes straight ahead.
